Hello Ed,
The nano particles will last for at least 6 months. They will not be affected by heat up to 279C all the way down to below freezing at -40C. You can still wash your car with regular car soap or just plain water and a microfiber cloth without worrying about the nano particles washing away. They are tough and will hold up to anything the environment can throw at them. One of the great things about the nano particles is that they offer 100% UV protection as well as corrosion protection from acids and road salt. The shine will last for months as well, just give the car a wash down and be sure to dry it with a soft cloth. The shine will remain!
